Get ready, San Diego: Life Time Otay Ranch is coming your way in winter 2025. Located in Chula Vista, just south of downtown San Diego, this new athletic country club is set to serve as a community hub for healthy living.

“We are proud to bring Life Time’s luxury athletic country club experience to such a vibrant, health-minded community,” says Andrew Dewey, lead general for Life Time Otay Ranch. “As a San Diego native, I know the community, and I know Life Time delivers a quality product our members will appreciate. Our mission is to inspire a healthy way of life and we’re here to support every member in that endeavor.”

Let’s explore the 85,000-square-foot Life Time Otay Ranch space:

exterior of otay ranch

Starting on the first floor, Life Time Otay Ranch offers a full-scale Kids Academy. “There are a lot of young families in this community, and members can feel confident dropping their kids off in a safe environment,” says Dewey. “We’ll keep them busy and engaged with healthy activities.”

Parents can leave their kids — ages three months to 11 years — at the Kids Academy while they make use of other areas of the club. The Kids Academy features a movement studio, an art and language studio, a learning lab, a kids’ gym, an outdoor turf play area, a toddler area, and an infant area. Kids can learn, play, and grow with engaging and enriching age-specific programming and classes. Parents can use up to 2.5 hours of childcare per day, included with a Junior Membership.

Another unique perk of a Junior Membership is unlimited monthly kids and tweens events. Parents can enjoy an evening to themselves — at the club or elsewhere — with regular Parents Night Out and Tween Takeover events, which are always based around fun themes.

Families can also enroll in School-Break Camps for those days when school is out and the kids need something to do.

Also on the first floor is the Life Time Work Club Lounge — an open-plan, community-style coworking area that’s complimentary for members. “This space is here for members who want to work remotely or need to get tasks done before or after their workouts,” says Dewey. (Learn more: “What Is the Life Time Work Club Lounge?”)

The adjacent lounge features a full-service bar with beer on tap, wine, champagne, and other beverage options. Members can look forward to social events and mixers, where they can create new relationships with like-minded people from the community.

The first floor is also home to the LifeSpa — a full-service salon and spa offering body, skin, hair, and nail treatments — and the LifeCafe. Swing in for a nutritious meal (like a build-your-own bowl) or snack or simply grab a protein shake to-go after your workout.

The luxurious locker rooms — including men’s, women’s, and family — are located on this level too. The men’s and women’s locker rooms feature a full hydrotherapy suite experience with a sauna, steam room, whirlpool, and cold plunge. Here, members can feel pampered in spaces dedicated to their recovery and relaxation.

Up on the second floor, discover the expansive workout floor, where members can find free weights, state-of-the-art cardio and resistance-training machines, and designated stretching areas. It’s easy to build and stay consistent with a fitness routine when everything you need is available in one convenient space.

Members seeking a more individualized fitness experience or added guidance and accountability can connect one-on-one with a Dynamic Personal Trainer (at an additional cost). (Learn more: “Achieve Your Fitness Goals With Dynamic Personal Training.”)

This is also where members can advance their fitness and partake in GTX, Alpha, and Ultra Fit signature group training classes. GTX is a 50/50 blend of cardio and strength work; Alpha is centered around Olympic weightlifting and metabolic conditioning; and Ultra Fit combines sprint-interval training with balance and strength efforts.

There are also four studio spaces for Pilates, yoga, barre, and other unique-to-Life-Time group fitness classes. These classes are taught by top performers with options for people of all fitness levels and interests. (Learn more: “Why Life Time Classes Are for Everyone.”)

After your workout, wind down in the LT Recovery zone, where you can find HydroMassage lounge chairs, CyroLounge chairs, Normatec compression therapy devices, and Hyperice vibration therapy devices. (Learn more: “How to Use 3 Popular Recovery Tools at Life Time.”)

Additionally, Life Time Otay Ranch features a LifeClinic, where licensed chiropractors are available by appointment (at an additional cost) to help alleviate pain or discomfort so you can move and function at your best.

For those aiming to incorporate more recovery, stretching, or mobility work into their fitness plans, consider a Dynamic Stretch session — a stretch specialist can take you through a full-body assisted-stretch session (at an additional cost). (Read more: “What Is Dynamic Stretch?”)

pickleball courts at otay ranch

Life Time Otay Ranch is going all-in on the popular sport of pickleball. Grab your paddle and head to one of the three indoor pickleball courts. Or, if you prefer playing in the sun, venture outside to the four outdoor pickleball courts. “If you want to learn how to play pickleball or you’re already an avid pickleball player, this is the place for you to be,” says Dewey.

Members can also relax and splash around on the beautiful 51,000-square-foot pool deck, featuring a lap pool and two leisure pools with waterslides. Swim laps, take lessons, or simply spend time soaking up the sun. And when hunger strikes, order healthy eats from the outdoor bistro right from your cabana or lounge chair.

“Life Time Otay Ranch is unlike anything many people in the area have ever experienced,” says Dewey. “It’s a place to connect, grow, and thrive — no matter your age or stage of life. I’m excited for all our amazing team members to empower our members to live healthier, happier lives.”

Life Time is bringing a unique club offering to the Chicago area: Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet, a suburban sport and racquet club with all the athletic country club amenities. It’s set to debut in two phases: the first in early 2026 and the second in spring 2026.

The phase one opening of the club features 19 indoor pickleball courts as well as a pro shop, a studio for yoga and MB360 (mind-body training) classes, and a Life Time Work Club Lounge.

In spring 2026, when the full club experience debuts, members can enjoy the entire spectrum of amenities and spaces that Life Time offers, including fitness studios, luxurious locker rooms, a LifeCafe and bar, a Beach Club pool area, 20 additional outdoor pickleball courts, and more.

Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet is the sixth club to open in Chicago within the last five years and the 17th club overall in the metropolitan area. It’s located just four miles from Life Time Northbrook, offering members the option to easily use the offerings at both destinations or within the network of other clubs in the area.

Let’s explore the 115,000-square-foot Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet space:

“Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet will be a premier destination — both in the Midwest and in the nation — for amateur and professional athletes to come and play pickleball,” says Steven Pierce, senior lead general at Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet.

With the sheer number of courts — 39 in total! — there is no shortage of opportunities for pickleball players. “This club is going to be the most exciting place for people to play pickleball,” shares Sabrina Palavra, pickleball lead for Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet and member of the pickleball advisory board for Life Time.

Prior to joining Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet, Palavra was the pickleball lead at Life Time Old Orchard in Skokie, Ill. — a club also known for its robust pickleball community where Palava launched a diverse pickleball program that includes leagues, tournaments, drills, private and semi-private lessons, and more.

“Life Time Old Orchard did a really good job creating a pickleball program that appeals to all levels — beginner through advanced — and all ages. This created strong member engagement and kept our players happy. This is ultimately what I plan to bring to Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet,” explains Palavra. “With the number of courts we have at this club, we’re going to be able to tailor our programming to everyone at every level.”

Palavra plans to hone the programming even more tightly to categories of players that may often be overlooked at other facilities due to limited court space. Think peewee levels (kids ages 5 to 7 years old) and other junior-age members; active-aging members; and players whose DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) is in between levels (like 2.5 to 3.0).

Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet also plans to host Intro to Pickleball courses nearly every day of the week to meet the anticipated demand. “The more courts you have, the more opportunities you have to tailor programming and tournaments to make playing an enjoyable experience for all,” says Palavra.

Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet is also aiming to serve the pickleball community with spaces that can host high-level competitive play, according to Pierce. “This club will have stadium-style seating for some of its indoor pickleball courts, purposeful for spectating and livestreaming,” he says.

This club’s location within Chicagoland is also intentional, he adds. “Many professional pickleball players travel out of state or down south to play in competitive matches, but now they can have access to elevated court spaces in the Midwest.

“We’re hopeful that Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet will become a future hosting site for the LT Open — Life Time’s singles pickleball tournament — [and we] expect to welcome professionals to compete in other pickleball events held here,” he adds. (Learn more: “The Biggest Stage in Singles Pickleball: What Is the LT Open?”)

There will also be a pro shop for all your pickleball gear needs. “Members will be able to shop high-quality, professional gear, including LT Pro 48 pickleballs, the official pickleball of the Carvana PPA Tour,” says Pierce.

For any members who want a space to catch up on work, they can do so at the complimentary Life Time Club Work Lounge, which is an open-plan, community-style coworking space inside the club. (Learn more: “What Is the Life Time Work Club Lounge?”)

Members can elevate their fitness by taking part in GTX, Alpha, and Ultra Fit signature group training classes in their dedicated spaces. GTX is a 50/50 blend of cardio and strength work; Alpha is centered around Olympic weightlifting and metabolic conditioning; and Ultra Fit combines sprint-interval training with balance and strength efforts.

MB360, the fourth format in Life Time’s signature group training portfolio, is a mind-body program that combines meditation, mobility work, and functional strength and conditioning exercises. It will be offered in the same studio space where yoga classes are held.

There are two more studios for group fitness classes: one dedicated to barre and the other to CTR (Core Tone Reform), Life Time’s newest format that features a high-energy, low-impact athletic reformer workout designed for all fitness levels. (Learn more: “Core, Tone, Reform: What is CTR at Life Time?”)

Members can venture onto the workout floor to find free weights, state-of-the-art cardio and resistance-training machines, and designated stretching areas. It’s easy to build and stay consistent with a fitness routine when everything you need is available in one convenient space.

Along with luxurious men’s and women’s locker rooms, there will be a coed hydrotherapy suite equipped with a steam room, sauna, cold plunge, and whirlpool.

There’s an LT Recovery zone, too, where members can find HydroMassage lounge chairs, CryoLounge chairs, Normatec compression therapy devices, and Hyperice vibration therapy devices. “If you have tight muscles after playing pickleball, this is where you’ll want to be,” notes Pierce. (Learn more: “How to Use 3 Popular Recovery Tools at Life Time.”)

In warm-weather months, members can lounge at the Beach Club; the outdoor pool is a half-lap, half-leisure pool.

Back inside, members can swing by the LifeCafe for a nutritious meal or to grab a protein shake to-go after their workout. There will also be an adjacent bar with beer on tap, wine, champagne, and other beverage options that can be enjoyed both inside and outdoors on the pool deck. Members can look forward to social events and mixers here, where they can develop new relationships with like-minded people from the community.

“Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet will endeavor to serve the pickleball community, and we’re also going to have elevated healthy-living amenities that people cannot get anywhere else,” says Pierce. “There is no other facilitator in the Midwest that’s going to do pickleball like Life Time.”

Life Time members often remark on the luxurious athletic country club amenities enjoyed from the moment they walk in the door and continuing into the dressing rooms, where steam rooms, saunas, whirlpools, and other features create a serene oasis. And in summer 2025, Life Time announced a new addition to these spaces in their New York City locations: premium haircare and skincare products from Kiehl’s. That luxe experience is now expanding to the opposite coast, rolling out in select western and west coast locations this fall.

“Members at select clubs in Arizona, Nevada, California, Washington, and Oregon will soon enjoy a curated selection of Kieh’s most-loved products in our dressing rooms and showers,” says Brian Gaeta, vice president of club operations for Life Time. “This effort is part of our ongoing commitment to delivering elevated experiences that support our members’ healthy, high-performance lifestyles.”

Kiehl’s has curated four of their most beloved formulas to be featured in Life Time dressing rooms.

“At Kiehl’s, we’ve been dedicated to delivering effective, science-backed skincare since our founding as a neighborhood apothecary in 1851,” says John Reed, general manager for Kiehl’s. “Our mission has always been rooted in care: care for skin, care for the community, and care for the environments in which our customers live their lives. This relationship with Life Time represents a natural evolution of that mission. Each product was selected for its proven efficacy, sensorial appeal, and relevance to both pre- and post-workout care.”

Meet the Products

Amino Acid Shampoo

“This is a gentle yet effective daily cleanser that helps soften and add body to the hair thanks to a blend of coconut-oil-derived surfactants and wheat proteins,” Reed explains. “It has a creamy lather and subtle coconut scent that feels both cleansing and indulgent.”

Form 133 Conditioner

“This ultra-light conditioner detangles and hydrates without weighing hair down,” notes Reed. “It’s perfect for a post-workout refresh and can be used after shampooing to soften hair or as a leave-in conditioner to help make hair smooth and manageable.”

Grapefruit Body Cleanser

“A cult favorite for good reason, this refreshing, invigorating cleanser is formulated with botanical extracts and aloe vera, delivering a gentle cleanse that energizes the senses,” he adds.

Crème de Corps

“One of our most iconic body moisturizers, Crème de Corps is known for its rich texture and deep hydration,” Reed says. “It’s particularly beneficial after a shower to lock in moisture and leave skin noticeably softer and smoother.”

Reed notes that he is excited to expand Kiehl’s relationship with Life Time to elevate more members’ experiences. “We’re meeting our customers where they are: in a premium environment that reflects their commitment to a high-performance, intentional, and self-care-focused lifestyle,” he says. “By integrating our high-efficacy products into this premium experience, we can deliver demonstrable results and further empower their pursuits both in and out of the club. We’re proud to be part of an ecosystem like Life Time, which champions a healthy way of life.”

Kiehl’s products will be available in early October in the following Life Time locations:

People are often happier at work when they have flexibility. Having decision-making power over the environment in which they work and the cadence of when they work can result in boosted productivity and a better mental state.

This is exactly how Life Time Work, Life Time’s coworking concept, is designed to support working professionals — but with the added layer of health and wellness integrations.

“Life Time Work is intended to provide an elevated working experience for our members,” says Adam Mignogna, leader at Life Time Work in Bridgewater, N.J. “Our coworking facilities allow professionals to be productive in an array of spaces, depending on their preferences — think large, open coworking areas; private offices, desks, and phone booths; and conference rooms. They’re all designed with health and ergonomics in mind. And Life Time Work is the only coworking concept that combines exceptional workspaces with a world-class health club experience.”

(Life Time Work currently has 15 locations around the United States, including in vibrant hubs like Houston, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Atlanta — with more to come. See if there’s a Life Time Work near you.)

Many don’t know about the unique advantages Life Time Work has to offer, so we asked Mignogna to tell us more about the membership perks available. If you’re not yet a Life Time Work member, see if any of these could support a healthier work environment for you. If you are a member, browse the list to make sure you’re taking advantage of them all.

1. A dedicated support team.

As an entrepreneur, business owner, or member of a small or remote team, it can be hard to do so many things on your own. The Life Time Work staff is there to ensure a high-caliber work environment, from logistical office needs to helping you receive clients.

“In a really unique way, Life Time Work can become a significant extension of your brand and team as a concierge for your clients and guests,” says Mignogna. “If you’re expecting a client or guest, we can help welcome them in, offer beverages, and let you know they’ve arrived.

“Plus, when guests come in, they recognize the Life Time Work space immediately as a premium offering, which then becomes associated with your business,” he adds.

2. Access to the Life Time app — a go-to resource for tapping into your healthiest, happiest self.

As a Life Time Work member, you automatically get access to a Life Time digital membership. This means wherever you go, you have access to a wealth of resources centered around healthy living, all at your fingertips.

With the Life Time app, you can do everything from a daily workout or a guided meditation to asking L•AI•C (Life Time’s AI companion) for insights on all your health and wellness questions. You can also schedule a fitness class at a Life Time club, book a pickleball court, and more. (Learn more: “All the Ways to Use the Life Time App.”)

3. The ability to seamlessly blend health and wellness into your workday.

The proximity to Life Time’s athletic country clubs can help you be more health-minded, but Life Time Work also has other subtle ways to encourage healthy habits.

“There’s a thoughtful design to our spaces,” explains Mignogna. “Not only do our layouts encourage movement, but we have ergonomic furniture, like sit-to-stand desks and laptop bars in the lounge, to help you steer clear of a sedentary lifestyle.”

Life Time Work spaces also feature elegant touches of plant life and large windows that filter in natural light to maintain a serene environment.

“We also try to find unique ways to intertwine the club’s resources for our Life Time Work members,” he adds. “This can include chair massages from LifeSpa in our lounge, stretch therapy from LifeClinic chiropractors, or even nutrition coaching and educational sessions from our Life Time experts — the list goes on.”

Depending on your Life Time Work membership tier, you may also have access to the adjacent Life Time athletic country club and all its offerings and amenities, allowing healthy habits to be incorporated into your workday even more conveniently.

4. Complimentary snacks and beverages.

All Life Time Work locations have a community kitchen stocked with complimentary fresh-brewed coffee, flavored water, and healthy snacks like the ones carried in LifeCafe at Life Time clubs.

“If your location is integrated within a Life Time club or in proximity to one, then you can also order catering from LifeCafe, where meals are developed by chefs and approved by Life Time’s own nutrition and fitness professionals,” says Mignogna.

5. Opportunities to network and make connections.

Another benefit of a Life Time Work membership is being part of a dynamic community of professionals and entrepreneurs from a variety of fields, which can be fodder for unique relationships. Life Time Work encourages and facilitates connection building with networking mixers, professional roundtables, happy hours, and other community events.

“As we learn more about our members, we’re better suited to connect them with other people,” says Mignogna. “Professional relationships can happen organically by both simply sharing space with like-minded people as well as intentionally at hosted networking events.” (Learn more: “6 Ways to Network at a Coworking Space.”)

Life Time Work also aims to host monthly events for members — think Mother’s Day bouquet making, whiskey tastings, member mixers, and more.

6. Tech support and complimentary office services.

We’ve all experienced it — the frustrations of a printer that’s jammed or a slow and clunky internet connection. Leave the technology headaches to Life Time Work staff, who are ready to go with on-site, responsive tech support.

“As a Life Time Work member, you gain access to the gamut of amenities we provide, which includes secure and fast Wi-Fi along with complimentary printing, copying, scanning, and shredding services,” says Mignogna.

7. Diverse workspaces.

There is no one perfect way to work, and Life Time Work recognizes that. Every location features private and open-plan workspaces, state-of-the-art conference rooms, ergonomic furnishings, and private phone booths, available to all Life Time Work members regardless of membership tier.

Whether you are a stickler with your work style or it changes depending on the day or even hour, Life Time Work can meet you where you’re at — with style.

8. Host events for your guests and clients.

Life Time Work’s elegantly designed locations can transition from your workspace to a venue to host events (at an added cost). “Whether you’re hosting a small meeting or a networking mixer, the Life Time Work team can help ensure a seamless experience for all your guests,” says Mignogna.

Life Time Work Membership Options

Life Time Work offers three tiers of membership at most locations: private office, dedicated desk, and lounge, each designed to meet you where you’re at with your professional needs. Each Life Time Work membership option offers the ability to integrate a Life Time club membership at an added cost.

Private office: This membership grants you access to a secure, private space for you and your team with sit-to-stand Herman Miller desks and lockable filing cabinets. If your work requires confidential conversations with your team or you prefer a quiet, dedicated space, the private office membership would likely suit you.

Dedicated desk: This membership includes access to a reserved sit-to-stand Herman Miller desk within a shared workspace, along with secure storage and access to the open lounge area.

Lounge: This membership gives you access to an open-plan workspace with a variety of environments to support your unique workstyle. Features include private phone booths, collaboration nooks, varying desk options, printing, and refrigeration space (specific spaces and amenities vary by club).

Note: This offering is separate from the Life Time Work Club Lounges available inside select Life Time clubs, which come included for all Life Time club members.

Note: Life Time Work pricing, offerings, and club access will vary by location.

Exciting news, Boca! Life Time is bringing its second athletic country club, Life Time West Boca, to your community in winter 2025. Additionally, Life Time Boca Raton, Florida’s inaugural Life Time club, is undergoing a renovation that will be complete in spring 2026.

These two extraordinary locations — conveniently located just seven miles apart — will bring the breadth of Life Time’s amenities to Boca Raton residents and help the community live healthier, happier lives.

“We’ve really seen Life Time shine in Boca — we recognize that the community really values a healthy way of life,” says Bryant Au, manager of real estate for Life Time. “We’re excited to bring the next evolution of Life Time to the area through a brand-new club and upgrades to a well-established location.”

Life Time West Boca

First, let’s explore the brand-new 36,643-square-foot Life Time West Boca space:

Life Time West Boca is nestled in the Uptown Boca shopping center and is easily accessible off Glades Road and U.S. Highway 441. The club features ramp parking with direct access to the club’s second-floor entrance from the ramp’s third floor.

After checking in at the front desk, members will see the juice and smoothie lounge — take note, as this is where you can quickly grab a to-go protein shake after your workout. Tip: Order ahead in the Life Time app for an even more expedited experience.

The second floor is also where you’ll find the men’s and women’s locker rooms, featuring fresh towels; showers with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash; complimentary daily locker use; and more.

Members can also revive in the coed hydrotherapy suite, which includes a cold plunge, whirlpool, steam room, and cedar sauna.

These classes are taught by top performers with options for people of all fitness levels and interests. (Learn more: “Why Life Time Classes Are for Everyone.”)

Life Time West Boca is one of a few select locations nationwide that will offer Life Time’s newest class format, CTR (Core Tone Reform). CTR is a high-energy, low-impact athletic reformer workout designed for all fitness levels. (Learn more: “Core, Tone, Reform: What is CTR at Life Time?”)

Members can visit the expansive workout floor — also on the second floor. It features brand-new free weights, state-of-the-art cardio and resistance-training machines, and designated stretching areas. It’s easy to build and stay consistent with a fitness routine when everything you need is available in one convenient space.

Members looking to improve their strength can partake in Alpha signature group training classes, which are centered around Olympic weightlifting and metabolic conditioning.

Members seeking a more individualized fitness experience or added guidance and accountability can connect one-on-one with a Dynamic Personal Trainer (at an additional cost). (Learn more: “Achieve Your Fitness Goals With Dynamic Personal Training.”)

After your workout, wind down in the LT Recovery zone, where you can find HydroMassage lounge chairs, CryoLounge chairs, Normatec compression therapy devices, and Hyperice vibration therapy devices. (Learn more: “How to Use 3 Popular Recovery Tools at Life Time.”)

For those aiming to incorporate more recovery, stretching, or mobility work into their fitness plans, consider a Dynamic Stretch session in which a stretch specialist takes you through a full-body assisted-stretch session (at an additional cost). (Read more: “What Is Dynamic Stretch?”)

Life Time West Boca will also have three dedicated LifeSpa massage rooms for some well-deserved pampering and muscular support.

The first floor is where members can take a GTX class, another signature group training program that’s a 50/50 blend of cardio and strength work.

Life Time Boca Raton

Now, here’s what’s coming to Life Time Boca Raton:

Life Time Boca Raton’s outdoor pool deck will be beautifully refreshed with lush landscaping and an expanded Beach Club area. Members can swim laps in the Olympic-style lap pool, and when hunger strikes, order healthy eats from the outdoor bistro right from their cabana or lounge chair.

“We want our members to be able to relax on the pool deck like they would in a resort,” says Susan Mistri, senior lead general and area director for Life Time in Florida. “This is going to be a luxurious space.” (Learn more: “Best Summer Ever: 9 Ways to Spend a Day at the Beach Club.”)

The club’s eight outdoor pickleball courts will be revitalized with premium surfaces and an enhanced seating area. Even better? The entire outdoor pickleball area will be covered with shade to protect players from the Florida sun — something that’s going to be “a gamechanger,” according to Mistri.

“During the summer months, it can be more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit on those courts,” she says. “This shade will help protect players so they can play all day long.”

There will also be a brand-new outdoor Alpha conditioning area with a turf field and state-of-the-art equipment.

Members will also see significant enhancements when they head inside Life Time Boca Raton. The workout floor will have all-new cardio and strength equipment, plus updated cosmetic refreshes throughout.

All six studios, including the general, barre, yoga, cycle, GTX and Ultra Fit, and Alpha studios, will be updated and refreshed with new equipment, lighting, and technology. This will elevate the experiences for all signature group training programs and studio classes.

Rejuvenation and recovery are also going to look a little different at Life Time Boca Raton. In addition to a refreshed LifeCafe, the LifeSpa will expand to include more hairstylist and nail technician stations as well as a new red-light therapy bed offering.

Debuting for the first time at Life Time Boca Raton is MIORA Performance and Longevity, a scientifically advanced and science-backed healthy aging optimization platform that leverages Life Time’s 30 years of healthy-living expertise.

MIORA is all about proactively addressing health concerns and supporting optimal long-term health. The team — including doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, registered dietitians, and personal trainers — collaborate to create integrated, individualized programs that address what’s not working optimally and aim to get patients on a path toward their best health.

There will also be a new Dynamic Stretch area and an expanded Dynamic Personal Training area.

“Over the last 10 years, Life Time evolved to a full wellness experience,” says Au. “The remodeled Life Time Boca Raton will now be a full realization of what Life Time is today. We’re investing in its refresh so Boca members can have the best form of our athletic country clubs.”

As summer transitions to fall and school is back in full swing, families are adjusting to the familiar rhythm of kids being in the classroom. But once the school buses roll around for drop-off, what’s next?

Being intentional about how your children spend their post-school hours can have a significant effect on their development and well-being. At Life Time, there are options for kids to keep learning, engage in healthy behaviors, and have fun. Plus, as a parent, it gives you time to spend at the club prioritizing your own well-being.

“When your kids are at Life Time, they’re being taken care of,” says Glory Casillas, kids leader at Life Time in Centennial, Colo., who has worked on the Life Time Kids team for the past eight years (and has been bringing her two daughters to Life Time for nearly 11 years). Her youngest is now 10 years old and “she’s done it all,” according to Casillas, starting from the infant room to structured play in the Kids Academy. “For my family, Life Time is more than just a club, it’s a second home.

“My family has a routine at Life Time,” she explains. “On Mondays, we practice soccer. On Wednesdays, we rock climb. Then on Fridays, we go to the pool together. It feels so special as a family to close out our days here. And you can do something different every day, so your kids want to keep coming back.”

Both parents and kids can benefit from disconnecting from the fatigue of having to plan at the end of the day, according to Casillas. “Plus, Life Time can be cheaper than a babysitter — as a member, you can get up to two and a half hours of drop-in care every single day.”

To help you easily plan your after-school time so you can form your family’s routine, we rounded up a list of all the activities your kiddos can do in the afternoons and evenings at Life Time.

1. Kids Academy Drop-In Play and Classes

The Kids Academy provides educational and movement-focused activities for kids ages three months through 12 years old (ages may vary based on club location), all in a safe and secure setting with trained team members. Often centered on fun weekly themes, these activities are designed to give kids the freedom to explore new ideas and gain hands-on experiences. (Learn more: “Fun at the Life Time Kids Academy: A Sneak Peek.”)

“There is no reservation needed for non-infant drop-in play at the Kids Academy, so it’s a great option for parents needing something last minute to keep their kids entertained and engaged,” says Casillas.

Drop-In Classes are held all day for kids to join, whenever their parents or caregivers bring them. (Although not required, if you are able to plan in advance, reservations are preferred for classes when possible.) There are different options for ages 3 to 11 years, and the classes are varied, including tumbling, stretching, dancing, arts and crafts, sports, yoga, S.T.E.A.M., interactive nutrition games, and more. There is also toddler programming for 1- to 2-year-olds.

2. Kids Studio Classes

Kids often like to do the same things their parents do, and the Kids Studio Classes can be a fun introduction to the Life Time studio classes you know and love. Kids between the ages of 5 and 13 (grouped appropriately by development) can try the SOL yoga, Warrior Sculpt, SHRED, and Barre formats that are designed specifically for them.

Some clubs also intentionally schedule Kids Studio Classes to match the adult group classes being offered — you may see Danze Jam (kids’ Zumba) happening at the same time as adult Zumba, for instance. Clubs may also offer Grown-Up and Me Classes, where kids get to attend fitness classes with their parents. “It’s something fun that kids and parents can do and bond over together,” notes Casillas.

3. Swim Lessons, Swim Team, or Family Swim

Improving the swimming skills of your children can be a year-round initiative. Whether your kids are at the stage of learning how to swim or have the desire to improve their stroke and be more competitive, Life Time has instructors and programs to suit all levels and abilities.

Begin with Intro to Splash swim lessons (ages 3 months to 2 years) to get kids comfortable in the water with you before transitioning them to be on their own in swim lessons (ages 2 years and older). (Learn more: “Everything You Need to Know About Life Time Swim Lessons.”)

As your child grows, sign them up for swim clinics for specialized training (ages 5 to 12 years) or for competition by joining the swim team (based on your child’s ability, typically ages 5 to 18).

“Families can also come during Family Swim hours to work on water skills together or simply have fun playing games in the pool,” says Casillas.

4. Open Gym

During Open Gym hours, the world — or in this case, the court! — is their oyster. Kids can play familiar basketball favorites like around the world, HORSE, or lightning, challenge family members to a friendly game, or just run around to burn energy. Kids under 12 years old must have a parent or adult supervisor who is present.

5. Life Time Basketball

Kids can’t get enough of Open Gym time on the basketball court? Life Time’s basketball programming works with kids of all ages and skill levels on shooting, dribbling, teamwork, and other abilities necessary to fine-tune their hooping abilities. Basketball can be a great way to strengthen your kids’ motor and social skills all while having fun playing.

6. Junior Tennis

Life Time’s SMART tennis progressive programming focuses on fun and athleticism first, and tennis skills second. Kids start playing with others right away, learning this lifelong sport as they go and advancing to levels appropriate for their age and development.

7. Junior Pickleball

If you’ve heard all about the appeal of pickleball, it’s likely your kids know about this popular sport too. Pickleball is a sport that anyone at any age can pick up — kids included!

Junior Pickleball is an offering for Junior Members who are interested in getting involved with the sport and growing their abilities. This play-based programming emphasizes teaching young athletes to take joy in the game, while also improving their technical and tactical skills. (Learn More: “What Is Junior Pickleball Programming at Life Time?”)

8. Pickleball or Tennis Open Court Time

Want to engage in some family-friendly competition? Reserve a court and play against your kids in a round of pickleball or try singles or doubles tennis as a family. For kids, these moments of fun shared with their loved ones can have a positive impact. “There’s nothing better than seeing parents come in with their pickleball paddles and seeing the kids ready to go with their own paddles,” says Casillas.

9. Rock Wall

Challenge your child’s body and mind by encouraging them to climb to new heights as they explore routes on the rock wall. Only kids ages 5 and up can climb; a parent must be present to supervise kids ages 5 to 11 years old.

Note: Child care offerings, kids’ activities, and amenities may vary by age and club location.

Life Time Fishers, which originally opened in 2011 as the second Life Time location in Indiana, is experiencing a total transformation across its 31,400 square feet. The planned renovations bring a breadth of new amenities to members and will be ready to enjoy in December — just in time for members to head into 2026 with renewed momentum.

“Life Time Fishers will remain a place for members who want an intimate fitness experience,” says Adam Jacobsen, lead general at Life Time Fishers and an Indiana native. “But [it will] be executed in a way that brings Life Time’s premium mission to life from the ground up.”

Let’s check out the upgrades coming to Life Time Fishers:

gtx studio at fishers

Perhaps one of the biggest updates for the club is the integration of Life Time’s signature group training programs: GTX, Alpha, and Ultra Fit. GTX is a 50/50 blend of cardio and strength work; Alpha is a centered around Olympic weightlifting and metabolic conditioning; and Ultra Fit offers a combination of sprint-interval training with balance and strength efforts.

“Life Time’s signature group training formats feature results-driven programming, deep community, and world-class coaching,” says Jacobsen. “This is what our Life Time community strives for — to provide the most effective services and tools to help members get from where they are now to where they want to be.”

On the first floor, the designated GTX studio is fully enclosed for an immersive experience. There is also a dedicated Alpha space, which will ramp up the club’s available power racks from two to 15 (with 10 reserved for Alpha class participants). “Through this power-rack upgrade, we’ll be better able to accommodate the fitness needs of the strength trainers in our community,” says Jacobsen.

workout floor at fishers

The workout floor will also receive a substantial refresh with all-new equipment, including free weights, state-of-the-art cardio and resistance-training machines, and designated stretching areas. “A hand-picked, highly functional equipment package will add versatility and options to our diverse community,” notes Jacobsen.

Life Time Fishers will also be one of a select few locations nationwide to offer Life Time’s newest class format, CTR (Core Tone Reform), and will do so in its own studio. CTR is a high-energy, low-impact athletic reformer workout designed for all fitness levels. (Learn more: “Core, Tone, Reform: What is CTR at Life Time?”)

The club will also feature a private Pilates studio for one-on-one training on the reformer. “Our CTR and Pilates studios will help round out the ensemble of fitness offerings at Life Time,” says Jacobsen.

Members seeking a more individualized fitness experience or guidance and accountability will now have the opportunity to engage one-on-one with a Dynamic Personal Trainer (at an additional cost). (Learn more: “Achieve Your Fitness Goals With Dynamic Personal Training.”)

“Dynamic Personal Training offers an experience you simply can’t recreate on your own — it’s hands-on coaching and support for your personalized fitness needs and goals,” shares Jacobsen. “We’re thrilled to bring this to Fishers for the very first time.”

recovery space at fishers

The remodel also adds a brand-new LT Recovery zone where members can wind down and tend to exercised muscles with HydroMassage lounge chairs, CryoLounge chairs, Normatec compression therapy devices, and Hyperice vibration therapy devices. (Learn more: “How to Use 3 Popular Recovery Tools at Life Time.”)

For those aiming to incorporate more recovery, stretching, or mobility work into their fitness plans, consider a Dynamic Stretch session — also a new offering for Life Time Fishers. In these 25- or 50-minute sessions, a stretch specialist takes you through a full-body assisted stretch (at an additional cost). (Read more: “What Is Dynamic Stretch?”)

Both the men’s and women’s locker rooms will be fully refinished with updated showers and saunas and new amenities like conditioner, Q-tips, mouthwash, and razors.

The Kids Academy space, including its infant room and toddler area, will also get a cosmetic refresh. Parents can drop off their kids ages three months to 11 years at the Kids Academy for healthy and engaging care and programming while they use other areas of the club.

life time work club lounge at fishers

Fishers will also have a Life Time Work Club Lounge — an open-plan, community-style coworking space on the first floor that’s complimentary for members. (Learn more: “What Is the Life Time Work Club Lounge?”)

“We have a lot of young professionals who work remotely, and we’ll now have a space where they can conveniently do that and fit it into their healthy-way-of-life routine,” says Jacobsen. “It’s about making a healthy way of life easier and more integrated. We want you to be able to take a signature group training class and then only have to pop downstairs to get your emails fired out.”

This remodel serves as a tribute to the community and the members who have been part of Life Time Fishers for the last decade, says Jacobsen. “This is our opportunity to pay them back for their loyalty to Life Time Fishers. We want to create a space our members are proud of — and one that invites new members into the special community that exists here.”

What Is The Body Blueprint Program? https://experiencelife.lifetime.life/article/what-is-the-body-blueprint-program/ Tue, 09 Sep 2025 13:00:02 +0000 https://experiencelife.lifetime.life/?post_type=article&p=123281 Learn about this eight-week digital training program designed to build strength and hypertrophy created by Coach Hayley Akradi based on how she trains in her day-to-day life.

The post What Is The Body Blueprint Program? appeared first on Experience Life.

With the volume of training programs available nowadays and the number of fitness influencers posting their workouts on social media, there are a few questions that are fair to ask: How did they come up with this workout or program? What is the intended outcome? Has that outcome been proven?

The frustrations with this is just one of the reasons Coach Hayley Akradi, CPT, who’s been training members at Life Time for more than a decade, created her new digital training program, The Body Blueprint. After years of honing in on the strength-training methods that resulted in real change in her body, she mapped them out into this program so that others could benefit from the same demonstrated approach.

“I think it’s frustrating for people who see somebody on Instagram and say, I want to train like them so I can look like they do. And then they go to their link in bio and buy, say, a three-day booty-building program that was designed to put money in their pocket — not as something they actually do,” Akradi says. “The Body Blueprint is my program. In this moment, I’m on week five of it. It is quite literally how I train to live my life.”

We spoke with Akradi to learn more about The Body Blueprint program and how it’s informed by her personal approach to health and fitness.

Life Time | Your personal experiences have influenced your philosophies around fitness and health. Can you tell us about your approach and how that came to be?

Hayley Akradi | In 2010, I graduated high school and got my first membership at Life Time, and that is when I really discovered strength training. I was taking yoga and strength group classes, as well as some Alpha classes. I started to understand how I could manipulate my body with different training techniques. About five or six years later, I decided I was going to hire a coach and go into the sport of bodybuilding.

But things took a little bit of a turn when I took a trip to Mexico and got salmonella. I was very, very sick, but I got back to the United States, received treatment, and thought I was getting better until I started experiencing pain in my right leg. I knew it wasn’t an injury, but was told it was by a doctor and sent home from their office.

The pain got worse and worse and I had so much swelling I couldn’t get my pants on anymore. It felt like there were knives floating in my leg. Anytime I would move or breathe, there was so much pain. I checked myself into the ER and they did a bunch of tests, but told me I was fine and sent me home.

I ended up getting stuck in my closet because I couldn’t move off the floor. I checked myself into the ER again and was admitted to the hospital. Over three days I saw about six doctors and ended up being sent home again without them figuring out the cause.

Six months went by where I couldn’t walk without crutches. All the muscle I had built had completely atrophied. I ended up being seen at the Mayo Clinic where I finally got answers: I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition caused by a gene called HLA-B27. It’s a reactive arthritis you can get based off of one of three different infections — one of them being salmonella.

I saw a rheumatologist who recommended intense medication which came with a multitude of negative implications, and so I decided to go the holistic route. I found an amazing holistic doctor who I still see to this day and we worked on ridding my body of inflammation through diet and other lifestyle practices. Within two weeks, I was on the training floor again.

I didn’t have any muscle left by this point, but I started over. I got back into bodybuilding and made it to the national level.

That takes us to about 2018, which is when I realized the stress I was putting on my body related to my bodybuilding efforts was causing my autoimmunity to become out of control. So, I started training in a new way — still to manipulate my body, but without so much cardio and output, and without my cortisol levels going through the roof. I was training in a way that let my body calm between sessions.

This is a long story, but this is how The Body Blueprint program came to be — I took all the different pieces I loved from training and put them together in a way that wouldn’t stress my body. The way I train, the things I do before, between, and after training, it all comes from a very holistic approach.

LT | The Body Blueprint program is designed to build strength and hypertrophy without overstressing the body, which is very intentional. Tell us more about the program — what outcomes can someone expect from it and who’s it best for?

HA | I’m excited for people to go through The Body Blueprint and have the same experience and outcomes from it that I have. I called it the “blueprint” because it is quite literally the blueprint of how I train every single day. It’s an eight-week program available to anyone in the Life Time app.

The goal is to build strength and muscle while also being able to burn fat and improve your body composition. It’s not a weight-loss program; it’s a program where your muscle comes up and your body fat goes down. You can expect to look and feel different in your body.

I would say it’s for intermediate and above levels because it is important to have a foundation for how to properly move in weightlifting exercises. But for beginners who want to get into this, I have a lot of videos and notes in the program where I coach you through and help explain what movements should look like.

I also love this program because when you’re done with week eight, you can go back to week one and do it again — and keep continuing to get stronger.

I’m excited for people to discover a different way of strength training that’s going to help them get to where they want to be with their body composition but without overtraining and being overstimulated. These workouts help you for life — they don’t put you over the edge.

LT | How is The Body Blueprint laid out and what does a week of exercise look like?

HA | The Body Blueprint is a mix of strength and hypertrophy. It’s not done in phases, but rather combines the two. Each week includes five strength-training days, along with a sixth full-body training day. It’s structured as follows:

  • Shoulders and core day
  • Quad-based lower-body day
  • Glute- and hamstring-focused lower-body day
  • Back and biceps day
  • Chest and triceps day
  • Full-body day

Each day features a primary movement. For example, on shoulders and core day, you’ll perform an overhead press. While that movement stays consistent throughout the eight weeks, variables like sets, reps, and volume will change. The main move is complemented by accessory movements, which you’ll perform as supersets, triple sets, isometric holds, and eccentric movements throughout the course of the program.

While time for recovery is built into the program, the full-body day is optional if you’re ever feeling taxed.

LT | How does recovery look in your personal exercise routine?

HA | I absolutely have off days where I’m not working out — but that doesn’t mean I’m not moving. NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) is super important. There’s usually a day where I’m coaching Ultra Fit. One day I week, I take my baby, Daria, to gymnastics. Those days movement looks different, but I’m still moving. The days when I’m training harder are usually the days when I’m in the office and sitting more.

You want to make sure you’re thinking about recovery and have a couple of days where you’re not working out super excessively. I also do a Dynamic Stretch session once per week and I love the infrared sauna for recovery too.

LT | Are there certain health and fitness habits that are non-negotiables for you?

HA | I always eat before training and never work out fasted because for me, I’m always reaching for MMF, or momentary muscle failure, which is something we talk about in the program — but having the energy to lift that heavy requires me to get protein and carbs in prior in the morning. I’m usually getting about 30 to 40 grams of protein and 40 grams of carbs. My morning routine is very much the same: I drink electrolytes right away, then I eat, then I caffeinate, and then I lift.

I also always come into the club with a plan for my workouts, and I schedule them on my calendar. I know that every Monday is my shoulders and core day. I know every Wednesday is my quad-based leg day. I put those on my calendar and always show up for myself.

Sleep is also a huge priority for me. I have a baby at home — I need energy for her and I need energy for my workouts. I also need to be recovered. I sleep seven-and-a-half to eight hours every night. My 20-month-old wakes up at 5:15 a.m., so that means I’m getting ready to lay down and fall asleep by 8:30 or 9 p.m. (Learn more: “Coach Hayley Akradi’s Sleep Secrets for Better Health and Performance“)

I eat non-inflammatory foods 80 percent of the time. I don’t eat seed oils. I don’t eat really anything with added ingredients. I try to eat as much from the ground — such as grass-fed beef, organic chicken, fruits, and vegetables — as I can. (Learn more: “How Coach Hayley Akradi Hits Her Daily Protein Goals.”)

LT | What advice would you give to those who are trying to figure out the training program that’s right for them?

HA | I would encourage looking at what you can be successful at and sustainable with. What I mean by that is, if you have three days to work out and you choose a six-day-a-week program, you’re probably not going to be successful at it and you’re probably not going to sustain it. If you’re that person and you want to work out six days a week, you can absolutely get there, but first, you need to feel like you’re successful at something.

The Body Blueprint is a six-day-a-week program so it’s something you do have to put a little bit more time into — but you are absolutely going to see body composition change. As long as you can sustain it and feel successful at it, then it’s the right program for you.

LT | I’m interested! How can I sign up for The Body Blueprint?

HA | The Body Blueprint can be found in the Life Time app. It’s available to anyone who has the app, regardless if you’re a Life Time member of not.

What Movements Are Featured in the LT Games? https://experiencelife.lifetime.life/article/what-movements-are-featured-in-the-lt-games/ Fri, 05 Sep 2025 13:00:49 +0000 https://experiencelife.lifetime.life/?post_type=article&p=123059 Learn the movements for the 17 stations that make up the LT Games, a hybrid fitness competition designed to push the boundaries of athletes’ strength and endurance.

The post What Movements Are Featured in the LT Games? appeared first on Experience Life.

In any type of fitness competition, performance not only hinges on ability, but also strategy. Everyone performs the same movements — but other than simply being faster or stronger, is there a method that allows you to edge out the competition?

The LT Games, a hybrid fitness competition, features 17 stations where athletes perform various exercises. The goal is to complete each station in the fastest time possible. In a “choose-your-own-adventure” style, athletes decide how they make it through each of these stations. The 17 stations are broken up to be about 50 percent strength and 50 percent cardio, and if your abilities peak in one area versus another, you can use that to your advantage.

For example, Wes Robertson, senior classes operations manager for Life Time and one of the designers of this new competition, says, “If I’m going through the LT Games workout, I know my body is going to be able to move weights faster than someone who might have a smaller or lighter body type — but for the running portions, they may outpace me. So, my strategy would be to lean into my strength of doing less reps at higher weights to add cushion to my overall time at those stations.”

If you’re considering competing in the LT Games, it’s helpful to have a preview of the 17 stations so you can appropriately train and strategize for them. During the competition, athletes move through the stations, beginning with the longest run and volume of work. Then the load gets a bit lighter as the competition unfolds. That means the first few stations take longer, and the final ones require shorter, sprint-like efforts.

Athletes are able to choose the weights they use at each station. The higher load they select, the less reps they must do to complete the weight requirement. For box jumps and stepovers, athletes have the option to choose from three different box heights.
