Affordable Body Care Products That Work – Less Than $30 For Soft Hydrated Skin!

For years, I was very cheap with what I’d spend on body care… I mean ultra cheap. If it wasn’t on a buy one get one free sale or if I couldn’t coupon to get it near free, I wouldn’t buy it. I was trying to be as frugal as possible with everything, and the strategy did help my finances over time, but it left my skin in just ok shape at best. It was clean but never felt hydrated enough, appeared very dull, and was rough. As I met my savings and debt-payoff goals over time, I started to indulge in better quality products. I’ve purchased a few high-end items (mainly higher end skincare), but I still don’t spend a lot of money on body care – though I’ve certainly stepped up my game. It took some trial and error, but I’ve found affordable products that I love and continue to repurchase. They’ve completely changed the appearance and feel of my skin. I can’t believe I didn’t use them before. There was definitely room in the budget for them. So, without further ado, here are the affordable body care products that you MUST add to your rotation!

Things I No Longer Buy: Part One

Happy New Year! I hope 2022 is treating you well so far. I’ve never been much into resolutions, but I am trying to constantly improve and live better and more intentionally. I want everything in my life to serve a positive purpose – even the things that I buy. So, a few months ago, I started making a list of things I used to purchase on a regular basis but no longer buy. There wasn’t anything necessarily wrong with any of them, but I was able to replace them with smarter purchases that made more sense for me. Some of them were money saving moves and some were just changes due to personal preference. The full list spans a few different categories – beauty, makeup, personal hygiene, entertainment, household, etc – so I’ll be sharing them (in no particular order) as a short series along with what I’ve replaced them with and why.

Here is part one!

Our Favorite Christmas Movies!

Updated: 12/23/2021

We’ve been deep into Christmas movie marathons by this point in December. I took some extended time off from my day job this month to really soak in ‘all the feels’ with my son. He’s still super excited about Christmas since he’s still so young. So, after putting in a ton of work this year, it was past time for a long break from the norm to really reconnect – and at a pretty great time of the year too. One of the things we’ve been doing almost every day is watching Christmas movies! The old school movies like the Rankin/Bass animagics are my personal favorites, but there have been a few newer releases that have made my list as well. We’ve certainly tried to watch them all at least twice! I’ve also found books of a few of our favorite movies. My son loves to follow along while we watch. Here are my family’s recommendations for the Christmas movies you MUST watch (in no particular order) before this season is out! I’ll also link the movies where I’ve purchased the book so you can check them out for yourself. As you can see, we’re big fans of the classics.

An Unexpected Look Back…

If you’ve been with me from the beginning, you know that my blog started out as a sort of open journal. I had a two year old and was in the middle of a divorce from my then husband of nearly five years. I felt like I was venting to my family a little too much but needed an outlet to get out my thoughts on what I was going through. I also learned a lot about myself and about life and wanted to share in hopes that someone else would be encouraged by my journey… and learn from my mistakes. Fast forward to today – over five and a half years later.

Well, if there was even the slightest notion in 2020 that things couldn’t possibly get any worse, 2021 stepped in to try. None of us could ever have guessed that the pandemic would still be trudging along over 18 months later, but here we are. So many people are still faced with so many hardships that it can be difficult to see light at the end of the tunnel. The amazing news though is that it doesn’t take much to make a huge difference in someone else’s life – especially in times like this where it can be so desperately needed.

Here are a few simple ways to help. It’s easier than you think!
