FALLing in Love

FALLing in Love: Celebrating Indoors!

If your family is anything like mine, you’ve spent WAYYYYY more time indoors than outdoors even with the launch of pumpkin patches, trick or treating, and fall festivals. My son and I didn’t go out for the trunk or treats or festivals today, so we’ve decided to do something different instead that’s just as much fun. We’re bringing the festivities inside!

One of the things that we get the most excited about are all the seasonal movies that come out this time of year. So, we’re pulling out our favorite snacks and watching our favorite halloween movies. I didn’t want to do anything too scary – my son is seven. So, here are a few of our top family-friendly picks:

  • Spookly the Square Pumpkin
  • The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Halloween
  • Curious George: A Halloween Boo Fest
  • Wild Kratts: Creepy Creatures
  • Nature Cat: A Nature Halloween
  • Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktacular & Revenge of Jimmy
  • It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
  • Scooby Doo on Zombie Island

As far as snacks, well…they’re pretty basic. But when we’re wanting to chill and have a good time, here are some of our (not so healthy, but delicious) go-to’s. Now, we didn’t eat all of these today, but I wanted to hit everything that we usually rotate through when we just want to eat and chill:

  • French toast sticks
  • Waffles
  • Pancakes
  • Pizza
  • Chips
  • Popcorn
  • Hot Dogs
  • Nachos
  • Chicken Wings
  • Smores
  • Ice Cream
  • Cookies
  • Hot Cocoa
  • Apple Cider

Here are some of the activities we have lined up. Some, we’re re-creating from things we did at a fall festival last year, and some, we’re throwing in the mix just because they’re things we both enjoy:

  • Carving and decorating pumpkins
  • Baking cookies
  • Playing board games
  • Hide and seek in the back yard
  • Reading and making up stories
  • And because it’s so close, helping to write his Christmas list

I hope this gave you some ideas on ways to still have fun inside this Fall. No matter how you’re celebrating this year, have fun and stay safe!
