Twists 💙 Y'all, it's been so long since I've done my hair like this. If you can't tell, I am thoroughly enjoying it! I've been trying to be more intentional about doing things that I enjoy and taking regular breaks from work to recharge. If you don't already know, for my 9-5 job (or more like 7-5 job 🥴), I manage a team of 20+ technical professionals. Unless I'm on vacation (and sometimes even during vacation), I'm on call to respond in case something goes wrong or there's a personnel issue. So, as you can imagine, I put in a lot of hours every week, and it can be stressful.
My lil kitchen 😊. There are definitely some things that I still want to polish up in here (the contractors missed a few things which is another story 🤦🏾♀️), but it's come a long way. And it's almost all mine - I mean REALLY all mine. I closed on my home in 2009 and on track to have the mortgage paid in full within the next 3 years. 15 years ahead of schedule! With one income, no crazy overtime, no second job, and no living on just beans and rice.
Ladies, an easy way to save money is to do your hair yourself. I'm not a professional, but I've been doing my own hair for the past 6 years. Going to a salon to get this style would have cost me $125 or more. Doing it myself cost me about $12. Now, that extra money can go toward an investment, your emergency fund, debt, or if you're like me and those are squared away, your next vacation. ✌🏾
